In our testing of Pando, file sending using "Leopard" is astoundingly faster than "Tiger" or Windows XP. This is for LAN transfers, of course - you can't get speeds like this across the general internet. But it is quite impressive how fast it can move data when the LAN is capable.
Windows XP: 6 MB/s
Mac OS X "Tiger" 10.4: 8 MB/s
Mac OS X "Leopard" 10.5: 22 MB/s
I don't know what Apple did, but the performance is stunning - it's the only desktop OS that we've seen that's as fast as server-class operating systems.
